Supreme court has granted bail to the three accused who were arrested on November 17,involved in the chimney collapse case at the Bharat Aluminum Company Limited (Balco) power plant in which 40 people were killed.
On february 13, Two engineers of a private construction firm were arrested , for their alleged role in last year's chimney collapse.
With the arrest of the two engineers, the number of people held in the chimney crash has now gone up to nine. Earlier seven people were arrested in the case ? three Chinese engineers Hau Zozin, CEO of Chinese firm SEPCO and five directors of Gannon Dunkerley on Jan 11, three Balco officials on Nov 17 including its vice president Viral Mehta, and GDCL project manager Manoj Sharma on Oct 7. Charge sheet was filed against Balco CEO and nine others by Chhattisgarh Industrial Health and security Department in a labour Court .
